Greetings Fellow Titans –
As I mentioned in a previous newsletter, you can expect to see more and more things communicated electronically this year. We moved all syllabi to an online format and the feedback was wonderful. Our Local School Council has a new section in this e-newsletter which will be a regular feature. This is one more way to communicate the pertinent issues to all stakeholders in our community – please take a few moments to read this week’s stories.
In yet another attempt to “go green” and conserve our resources, the popular Titan View has a new look this year. The PTSA has taken their informative newsletter to the world of digital communication! Check out this new look at They have done a great job of highlighting the many accomplishments of our teachers and students and you may even find your child captured in one of the photographs!
Make sure to mark your calendars for our annual Bring Mom to School Day on November 16, 2009. This is your opportunity to spend a day visiting your child’s classes and experiencing all of the wonderful activities that take place on a regular school day. I hope you will be able to attend for either a part of the day or for the full 7 hours.
As always, I am available at
Every Onward and Upward!

The Local School Council has a new “Bulletin Board” on the Northview HS website. The Northview HS Local School Council has been informed of a safety issue for which we need ALL DRIVERS on the Northview HS campus to be aware of and mindful.

Teachers and students have complained about the speed of cars traveling from the Abbotts Bridge Road entrance into the curve near the 600 hall (near the portables), and that the drivers often do not stop to allow safe passage of walkers from the parking lot to the building, especially during the morning carpool hours.  This driving behavior is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated.  Walkers are advised to use the crosswalks and drivers are reminded that walkers have the right-of-way.  We ask that all drivers travel no more than 10 miles per hour on campus.  Be considerate of others.  The Local School Council will be contacting the school system and police department(s) to determine how violations will be dispensed and what safety options can be implemented in this area to require a change in driving behavior.
