Greetings Fellow Titans –

To All Northview High School Parents, Community Members, Faculty and Staff,

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with an update regarding the selection process for the incoming Northview High School principal. At their Board meeting last night, the Board accepted Superintendent Avossa’s recommendation for Mr. Paul Brannon to assume the role of principal at Northview High School beginning with the 2011-2012 school year.

Mr. Brannon received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in School Administration from the University of North Carolina. He received Certification from North Carolina A&T State University in the field of Exceptional Children Cross-Categorical. He has an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Wingate University, where he is currently completing his Educational Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

During his educational career Mr. Brannon has held positions at the middle and high school levels as a teacher and assistant principal. Additionally, he has served as a principal of a middle and high school. Most recently, he has served as the principal at Wheatmore High School, Randolph County North Carolina. Mr. Brannon brings with him as he makes the transition to Northview High School the leadership skills necessary to excel in today’s diverse and challenging society. He is determined to make a difference in the lives of those he interacts with on a daily basis. He believes in hard work and dedication to all stakeholders that a comprehensive program of studies can be constructed thus allowing all students to be successful in and out of the classroom environment. It is his goal, that through a “student-centered” approach, the community will prosper and an environment conducive to lifelong accomplishments will be created. Mr. Brannon and his wife Tina, have one son Brooks who will be in second grade in the fall.

Mr. Brannon and I, along with central office personnel and Northview High School administrators will work closely together as part of the transition, so he can assume his role as quickly as possible in preparation for the upcoming school year. In addition, Mr. Brannon will begin to engage in individualized discussions with key stakeholders including staff members, parents, and community members.

Plans are being made for parents, community members, students and staff to meet Mr. Brannon in the very near future. As he prepares to assume his new responsibilities and continue to build upon the successful focus on Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Service at Northview High School, we hope that you will lend him your support to ensure the success for all students.

Ever Upward and Onward!
