STUDENT RECOGNITION CEREMONIES APPROACHING!
VIP Night, Honors Night, and Graduation will soon be upon us! After assembling the printed programs for these events, proof copies are displayed in the commons areas for one week prior to going to print. During this period, it is essential that each student check the display so that if he/she is receiving an award, the student can verify that his/her name is listed correctly. Because almost all awards are criteria-based, students will know for which awards they will be eligible. If a student feels he/she earned an award but his/her name is not listed, he/she should notify Ms. Elliott in the main office so that the eligibility can be verified. The students are directed multiple times via the morning announcements to check the displays. We also need for parents to remind their students to do so. We want every accomplishment to be included in the printed programs so any support you can offer will be appreciated.
REMINDER: HANDS ON NORTHIVEW
Please be reminded that Hands On Northview is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th, 9:00 – 12:00; volunteers should meet at the bus canopy. Please bring shovels, weed eaters, wheelbarrows, brooms, and/or rakes if possible!
MESSAGE FROM SOCIAL STUDIES DEPARTMENT
The Northview High School Social Studies Department wishes to thank each and every parent/guardian for their financial contribution to our Social Studies Booster Fund. Because of your generosity, we have purchased 8 LCD projectors and The Choices Program (from Brown University), provided staff development with guest presenters from The History Alive Program and other areas of specialization during the Early Release Days, and supported department members in their individual classroom needs.
Your support has proven invaluable in our implementation of the new Georgia Professional Standards for Social Studies. We sincerely appreciate this support and thank you for sending your child/children to Northview High School.
