Greetings Fellow Titans –
Scheduling has begun for next year and I enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the many parents who attended our Academic Advisement evening on Thursday. The students are in the process of choosing electives and we encourage you to take an active part in that process. Once schedule requests have been submitted, we will begin to build our master schedule and then look at the related staffing issues. There are many unknowns for next year due to the current economic situation of the State of Georgia, Fulton County, and our school district. We expect to be asked to once more tighten our belts; however, we will continue to offer the best education possible for your students considering the circumstances.
Our Local School Council will be asking for your input in proposing areas of consideration for cutbacks. Dr. Loe is soliciting your ideas and is working closely with the Board of Education to operate within the projected budgetary constraints. For more information, please go to www.fultonschools.org and watch the video log that Dr. Loe has recorded.
That being said, I would like to again highlight the wonderful accomplishments of our student body. Today, I received notification from the National Merit Scholarship Program of our list of 2010 Finalists. We have established a new Northview record of 34 finalists! Congratulations go out to:
Chelsea L. Gerdeman
Nathan X. Li
We continue our model of excellence. Ever Upward and Onward!

TOM MORGAN COMES TO JCHS
On February 25, 2010, at 7 P.M., J. Tom Morgan, author of Ignorance is No Defense, A Teenager's Guide to Georgia Law, will speak to parents at Johns Creek High School. Mr. Morgan is a former district attorney for DeKalb County and is considered an expert on the prosecution of crimes against children. His powerful and engaging presentation includes real life examples that specifically address Georgia laws and the potential impact on our teenagers. Please do not assume this does not relate to your child – this relates to all teenagers.
Mr. Morgan will be speaking to all Northview High School 9th graders and a select group of upperclassmen on Monday, February 8th during morning classes.
