Techno Titans successful at FIRST COMPETITION

BAYOU REGIONAL CHAMPIONS

The Techno Titans Robotics Club participates in various robotic building competitions and events throughout the year. The major event is participation in the international FIRST Robotics Competition. The team competes in and around Atlanta and may travel to competitions out of state. Opportunities exist in the club for students to perform technical problem solution, robot design, programming, and construction. Other important functions include business management, marketing, competition strategy and analysis. During “robot season” students have the opportunity to work with and learn from professionals in the engineering and business fields.
Requirement for membership: interest in robotics competitions; and enrollment in pre-engineering, drafting, computer science, and technology classes preferred but not required
Dues: $30 enrollment fee, contributions toward the cost and expense of competitions, participation in fundraising activities, and miscellaneous expenses as needed

Mission : To encourage young people to pursue educational and career opportunities in science, technology and engineering and to develop engineering knowledge and skills. The Techno Titans promotes interest in the application of science and technology.

Vision:

· To provide opportunities for students to participate in BEST, FIRST and other engineering programs as resources permit.

· We will further the awareness of and interest in engineering and technology through fundraisers and service projects.

· We will maintain the growth of student learning through school related curriculum and outreach to feeder schools.

· We will help other schools develop and improve their robotics programs.

· We will mentor elementary and middle school students in robotics activities.

· The Techno Titans will be a student lead organization.

Meeting Schedules: Regular club meetings are Tuesdays after school from 4:00 to 5:00 in Room 812. Work sessions will be scheduled as needed.
