The Beta Club is proud of the 376 members!

The Senior Beta Club is an academic-leadership-service organization for students in grades 10 through twelve. Its purpose is to encourage effort and reward achievement, and to promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship. Beta serves to encourage and assist its members to continue their education after high school. In order to join Beta, prospective members must fill out an application form, attach dues and a transcript to give proof of grades, and provide hours to show their dedication to Beta. It should be turned in to officers at the next Beta meeting (check the site for details) and NOT to Ms. Ely; if applicants are then admitted to the club, they will be inducted that fall.  

Requirement for membership: 88 cumulative average; community service activities

Dues: $25 for new members and $10 for old members (for senior medallions)

Service Hours to remain as a member in good standing :
summer- 10 hours
fall- 15 hours
spring- 15 hours

Attending meetings is a requirement (unless you have a zero period or morning college english, etc.)

The Junior Beta Club is an academic-leadership-service organization for students in grade 9. Students that were members at the middle school level are automatically placed in Northview's Jr. Beta Club. Its purpose is to encourage effort and reward achievement, and to promote those qualities of character that make for good citizenship.
Requirement for membership: 88 cumulative average; participation in community service activities
Dues: $10

Beta ClubThe National Beta Club is an honor and service club, which promotes scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Students who are a part of the Beta Club should not only be strong academic students but also be of strong character. These students should possess such attributes as honesty, responsibility, vision, enthusiasm, sincerity, and tolerance. All of these strong character traits help to make well-rounded Beta Club members. The following guidelines will apply to all members.

Responsibilities
All members must perform a minimum of 15 hours of community service per semester.
All members must pay $10 local chapter dues.
All members must participate in at least one school service project each semester.
All members must attend club meetings. If there is a conflict, the member should check with a club sponsor. Lack of attendance may result in being dismissed from Beta.
Grades

All members must maintain a grade point average of at least 88 .
The first semester this average is not met, the member will be placed on academic probation for the next semester.
If grades are not brought up to standard during this time, student is dismissed from Beta until grades meet requirements. At that point the student will be reinstated.
Discipline

A first office visit for a minor academic or behavior problem may result in restriction from participation for two weeks.

A first office visit for a major academic or behavior problem resulting in ISS may result in dismissal from Beta Club.

Any office visit resulting in suspension will result in dismissal from Beta Club.
