National Art Honor Society Charter
Established in February 2003, the Northview High School chapter of The National Art Honor Society is an art achievement that is by invitation only.
Mission: To provide an organized group by which members utilize their strengths and talents to reinforce their scholarship, leadership, services and character with the visual arts within the school and community.
Selection Process: The selection process is set forth by The National Art Honor society National Council which establishes the national standards for all NAHS chapters.
The following criteria form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built and are used in evaluating each candidate:
- Candidate must have been in attendance for at least one semester in art at Northview High School.
- Candidates must be sophomores, juniors or seniors at Northview High School.
- Candidates must have minimum art scholarship average of an "A".
- Candidates must receive a recommendation from the art faculty at Northview High School based on the candidate's art scholarship, service and character.
Requirements of Members:
- Attend regular meetings of the chapter wihch will be held no less than once a month.
- Participate in service projects that support the visual arts within the school and community.
- Maintain the minimum level of art scholarship.
- Support the Arts at Northview High School by joining the Northview Fine Arts Association.
National Art Honor Society
Students selected for membership in the National Art Honor Society are among the finest high school artists. Students must make application, be recommended by a faculty member, and successfully complete the screening process by the selection committee before being issued an invitation for membership.
