Chorus Programs

Chamber Singers
An advanced performing ensemble for students having extensive choral music experience. Members of this ensemble are expected to audition for All-State Chorus each year.

Mixed Chorus
This choir is for students who enjoy singing and would like to learn more about music and singing techniques. Several local performances are given each year.

Mens and Womens Chorus
These are advanced ensembles that perform a wide variety of choral literature ranging from classics to jazz. Music theory and sight-singing are taught.

Jazz Choir
The Jazz Choir meets on a regular basis outside of school hours and is intended for students who are interested in learning about and performing music from the classic jazz and modern jazz traditions. Students must participate in a traditional music ensemble at Northview to be eligible for membership. A variety of performances are given throughout the year.

Tri-M Music Honor Society
Tri-M shares and supports the objectives of every dedicated music educatior: to increase student and school involvement with music and unify the school music program. Students selected for membership are highly motivated musicians. Students must make application, be recommended by a faculty member, and successfully complete the screening process by the selection committee before being issued an invitation for membership. Selection to Tri-M is an outstanding accomplishment for a music student.

Piano Club
Students improve their piano skills through informal performance and recital settings.

Additional Information

Northview High School offers numerous opportunities for student performances through music, musical theater and drama. Many of the ensembles listed below require enrollment in a particular music or drama course, while others meet as extracurricular activities. Participation is open to all students; however, some performing organizations require an audition both for placement and to maintain enrollment limits. Interested students should contact the director/Advisor for specific information.
